Me and the missus were in Maplin t'other day and she grabbed my arm and pointed at a CB radio "you should get one of those for the Land Rover!!!" (I'm lucky I know.)

I have a spare section under my stereo in the dash, just wondered if you can get ones to fit?

No hurry or necessity, but for £50 it would be a nice toy :).

Will.

Crap marked it as LR2, was supposed to be FL1!

So one of those mounts should drop right in!!

take into account the ariel as well
height and allowance for clearance .. i.e. so you don't break it going under something
( i noted one that had something built in .. like a coil .. for better reception
( but same one was inflexible at the base .. so would break off in certain circumstances ..

i don't know if there's a cb ariel that don't shout out the fact you've a cb installed
( thinking of thieves .. something to think about .. )

~~~~~~~~
couple more site i found earlier on ..
( was getting curious about cb in the uk .. as i'd used one in the usa .. )
That's good know :). Hey are you the one selling those brackets on ebay? They look really nice!
Yes yes yes. I used to go out buying mounts to fit my attenas on and they would break in no time so when my wife had her freelander and as i am in Raynet which is radio amateure emergency network , and if we went out to either look for missing people or the like i used the wifes freelander and i used a mag mount with cloth around the base so it would not scratch, but found it soon got knocked of by trees ect. so i thought there must be another way and thats when I invented the first one. Since then it has snowballed i now do them for 14 different cars with the wheels on the back I am luck as i have 5 garages so one is the work shop and is full of doors for the different cars , as well as bending equipment and other stuff, since the begining i have kept the price the same , As i wanted to give the CBer and radio hams a good but cheep but reliable and quality product because i got fed up of buying.at the moment we are doing a change around in the workshop and so there have not been many on ebay but we will be back on track before Christmas and just to note i have the patent for all of them and a friend who is a barrister
Wow thats awesome!
My ancient CB packed in about a year ago - I thought I wouldn't bother replacing it - but I now realise how much I miss it.
What's the options for a replacement these days?
I need something to use in UK and Europe, to contact the truckers on the motorways etc.
Singvogel.
