P38A Catalytic Converter Stolen last Night

Bastards nicked the cats off my project P38 while I was away on business. Scared the bejesus out of my Mrs. Strange thing is they looked under my daily P38 and the BMW Z1 I'm sorting for step-son, but left them alone (luckily).

Security camera night mode is too blurry to see them properly, but maybe plod can enhance it. Ordered an IR light to improve the images in case they return.

Yes on bump stops (although that because it's been sitting for 6 months). They jacked it up on one side & crawled under with whatever cutter they used.
 
I live in West London and is happening every night. I personally know 3 people that had theirs stolen this week.

I heard of a motorhome main agent that lost the cats off their whole stock of brand new homes overnight. If there were more checks on where they weigh them in it would help.i tried to weigh in some scrap when I cleared the garage.i had to produce photo ID and my bank details.the scrapyard wouldn't accept my shotgun license, they said it had to be a passport or driving license.when I asked who are they the answer was the police.i pointed out that the shotgun license was issued by the police.Still wouldn't accept it.FFS.:mad::mad: had to go back the next day with my driving licence.:rolleyes:

Problem is, at least in UK, people's rights are protected. That means a thief has the right to go about his business without harm. You don't have the right to hurt a thief going about his unlawful business :rolleyes: said thief will sue, you'll probably get locked up and likely hear something about loss of earnings :eek:

thats spot on , police aint interested either (heres a crime number then off to get a coffee) think its due to no easy fines involved ,
 
In a letter to the Shooting Times many years ago the guy was woken up in the early hours of the morning by two guys who had broken into his shed and were emptying it of the contents so he phoned plod and was told no cars were available,he put the phone down and phoned back a few minutes later.He said as there was two of them and he was a licensed shotgun owner he was going to arm himself and make an arrest.ten minutes later three police cars and one armed response car turned up and arrested the robbers.One of the armed response officers asked where his shotgun was he replied locked in the gun cabinet.The officer said you told control that you were going to arm yourself,he said well control said there were no cars available but they managed to find four so who's lying.:mad:;):rolleyes:

Electric fences are used on animals and are not lethal but would make it hard for anyone to touch the car.

I like that idea. Mrs suggested electrifying the whole car, but the exhaust would be easier & safer for pedestrians. But would it cause any issue with the electrics ? Would be good if it damaged their electric saw though.

One issue with this, is the thieves might do other damage. Neighbours call the police & shouted at them, so the bar-stewards scratched their car all down one side as well.

Whole street done here a few weeks back. Battery powered grinder and no-one heard a thing.
 
Been a lot of it i our old area too over the last 6 - 9 months. Cross force scallys, high left jack, battery cutter, driver and 2 lookouts with baseball bats on the CCTV I've seen. Mostly target newer hybrids though up here.
