Defender 110 - 6 Months Old

I've installed the app on my phone and had it for sometime, it works, I can see where the car is and it shows me the status. However, on a few occasions I've tried to start the car and it won't start, it shows something on the dashboard and then shuts the car down. Computer says No! . This has happened a few times now and I've had to leave the car and come home in a taxi. However, I've managed to debug why this is the case, if you try and start climate control on the app, it comes up with an error. Once this has happened you can't start the car!

I don't know why climate control doesn't work and more importantly why everything else in the app seems to work, but again it should NOT prevent me starting the car which is does.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem, or maybe didn't realise when the car doesn't start it was them trying to activate the climate control in advance. To fix, I go into the app and the climate control section and it clears the error and I can start the car. On both occasions I walked away from the car, swore and then walked back, so maybe it was the car's voice recognition that started it!?!?

Welcome:).

Take it back to LR:).
You maybe the second person on here with 1 and I doubt anybody else here has the app to help.
Try using the key & fob:).
Sorry not much help;).

Yeah I've got an appointment booked, technology never works. You can't actually put a key in the car, it's all push button to start. It's more like push the car to start though.

I've got the solution but in case someone was searching then might find my solution rather than getting stranded at the mother in laws

You still have a fob though?
I got the impression it was because you were using the App on your phone;).

So please can you tell us what the solution is:).

My suggestions would be to not visit the MIL or buy a defender:).

And this in the first warning of the page. Is this a CYA or what:eek:.

"WARNING

To avoid any possibility of interference between the system and the device, make sure that the device is kept at a safe distance. The distance should be at least 9 in (22 cm) away from any transmitter. In rare circumstances, interference may cause an implanted medical device to malfunction. Malfunction of implanted medical devices may cause injury or death."

Who left the door open, once they are in you can never get them out, (only kidding) but agree that the new Defender is such a different vehicle it should have its own forum where other owner can help each other with their knowledge of their vehicles.
