Can't engage diff lock

HI Guys,

Hopefully an easy one for you all. LT230 transfer box, all nice and shiny from Ashcrofts 5 months back. I can get it lock but it means me getting underneath and assisting it moving over with a bit of wood.

It looks to me like the linkage is worn maybe as it doesn't change position much.

Is there a quick fix for this? Anyone had similar issues?

I have exactly the same issue. I needed centre diff locked while I temporarily removed the front propshaft. I had to get under the vehicle and manually move the selector. Coincidentally my transfer box is a newly reconditioned unit from Ashcroft but I am sure the problem is in my selector mechanism and not the t/box. Haven't got round to fixing it yet so not much use to you

Common problem is wear in the D shape of the little arm that fits on the shaft going into the box.

It's just a soft alloy on mine. No wonder it wears, Easy fix, though. Thanks

Yep I think the link you describe has already been bent a bit to tighten things up once. I'll see what I can improvise
