My newly acquired Freelander 55 plate (98k miles) has just let me down with a prolific head gasket blow into the coolant and overheated.
(I did top it up from cool and drive it the 18 miles to work for a while but it still got hot and sometimes smoked, so I'm worried I might have scored the liners, hence thinking in terms of changing the lump rather then getting the head fixed. Also make a 'tappety' rattle noise when hot.)
I've come across this TF Standard 135 engine that has been practically rebuilt and wonder if it will fit and what extra kits might be needed to convert engine mounts etc.
