Don't wish to pee on your chips but, I have had these on my 90 since they came out. Must say very happy with them OA, good on wet / dry road, quiet, good green-laning, good on extreme sites, in fact good all round except on greasy sideslopes. I have lost control twice now on wet clay sideslopes as part of a group (in the middle) where no-one else has had the problem, the tyres were running at normal road pressures so that would have had some bearing, but have to say dissapointed.

Thanks froghopper, luckily not a big off-roader [now wait for onslaught...what:eek:] and will keep a look out for wet clay. Of course the STT Pro's are not big off-road type tyres like the MAXX's and some of the BF's, they're just good all round M+S rubber.

PS much prefer malt vinegar and good quality sea salt on chips, rather than "grenouille trémie ****e d'eau" - en France there's the excellent sel de Noirmoutier...or, Reflets de France have sel de Guerande which is readily available in your local Carrefour :D;)

The STT Pro's will do you proud then, I particularly like the low noise levels on the road, and the dry grip, and the tough side walls, and the yadda yadda yad........

Anyway, quite like the island of Noirmoutier, and the salt is cheap and good. I likes salt.

Noirmoutier is a great place. We go down to the fish market early doors as the fishing boats are unloading and buy that days lunch/supper, the fish range is superb + the foc mussels found on the rocks when the tide goes out, we cook on the beach with home made tapinade, fresh bread and a good bottle Tokaji.

Have you tried the Ile d'Ole'ron, bit further down the coast, but we think it's got more going for it, certainly in terms of scenery.

What happened there then James?
Was it involved in the Saint Nazaire raid?
I will have to go and have a butchers at the U Boat pens one day, been meaning to for ages, always something else gets in the way though.
jacques tati holiday, watched it when we were on holiday in 2007 in the somme area we had rented a lodge and it just happened to be on the one night we decided to try the tv

AH right, worse places in the world to visit.
We are 2 hours due East of Nantes, give us a pm if you ever get to go.

Camskill have provided brilliant service...ordered Wednesday at the best market price, delivered to yesterday afternoon. The new set of Wolfs are being media blasted, primed and enamel sprayed. Pick these up on Friday...allow a couple of weeks for the enamel to harden, then on with new shoes:cool:

When I had mine fitted I found they were very skittish (can't think of a better word) for the 1st few weeks until the newness had worn off. A bit oversteering comparing to the old rubbish I had on prior to change, also very pressure sensitive with steering input. Soon wear in though.

Thanks fh, that's a good heads up. Once they're on I have a trip to Demand Engineering for a new exhaust, then to Lake District for an overnight followed by the summer West Coast Tour. Hopefully the weather's better than today...it's pishing down!

What are these like on wet roads? I know nothing is going to grip that well on a wet road, but anyone compare them to any other tyres on wet roads?

They're actually very good, my previous set were the same which is why I chose them for the new wheels. Of course, no M&S/POR tyre is going to stick like a set of Yokahama AD08R's

Thats good, the larger size 285 75 16 I was looking for did not have the speed rating , only went to K. You can get the higher rating but they are harder to find.

Cheers
