Cam Sensor Location 3.2 Petrol FL2 LR2 motor

For a newbie (like me when it comes to the FL2), finding where sensors are located is a challenge. This thread is about finding the cam sensors.

The inlet cam sensor is toward the front of the car. The exhaust cam sensor is toward the rear.




Both are held by a single Torx screw that can be tough to break free, and held in with a rubber O-ring that may require some leverage to extract.

But oddly, mine seems to have the wires different. For the Inlet sensor, the violet wire is not in an end position, but the middle.

This is how the service manual shows the location. No. 11 is the sensor but the number is overlaid with the @ character.

Those are very similar to the cam sensor on a Rover 75 2.5 which also get gunked up, we wipe them clean and most of the time work as per normal.
