Hey, I've been looking for a decent freelander for sometime and because of winter hey have all increased in price, except for one, which I found today, it's about £1500, td4 s manual. 84k and they say the abs light is on and the powersteering gets stuff every now and then,

Is it worth having a look? Because all the other ones around are about £3500! Thanks

No harm in having a look....

Abs light could be a sensor or an easy electrical fix. Power steering could be an easy one, but a new box isn't silly money.... Depends what you want. Factor in your repair costs and bid accordingly. Don't forget to check all the stuff they haven't mentioned too. Should have had VCU replaced 15000 miles ago etc etc etc..

Replacement / recon VCU is about £250 (from memory) + a deposit until you return your old one.

Depends where you go but there's a couple of suppliers mentioned on here somewhere. If you do it yourself that's it, if not then there's obviously labour costs too.

IRDs and diffs come in quite a bit more expensive iirc
