Hello all,

Just a quick one.

My poor Freelander is being neglected at the minute :( due to a new arrival and i want her to feel special again. (Got me a soft top for the summer)

My bumpers and wheel arches are now starting to get on my nerve. I have found a product which will dress them and make them gleaming black, however my problem is that when i wash my car, i notice that the bumpers ect are pitted with dirt which is deep into the plastic.

Has anyone found a product which will actuall clean the bumpers fully, not dress them, just clean them so that when i put the dressing on it will shine like a sh*t house door.

Any advice will be most appreciated.

kinell slurry, i thought you got send down fer messin wiv a minor, how is the child bride ;)

Greetings Yella :D
The child bride is doing well, thanks for asking.
They'll never send me down, they have to catch me first and being as I don't drive a Freelander now they're right out of luck

I don't think I've ever seen bumpers so black and glossy
Do the bumpers stop cricket balls and stone chips any better?

I may give the cricket bat oil a go.............I have rather more than the average trim on my FL to keep clean. I normally use Silicone Spray, takes a nearly a whole can though.

I use it on all the plastics and trim of the car. The rearviewmirror housings, the roofrails, the whiperarms, the sparewheelcover, the black mounts next to the reardoorwindow, the central stoplight housing etc....
Some on a cloth and whipe it over very well so that it's all covered and no humid spots left. When done 'polish' with a dry cloth. Good luck (and wear sunglasses when done.....:D )

must admit i tried willo oil on ma black bits un indeed its the best stuff, i also fitted a leather arm rest [also a willo must have] un yes its a comfort dream. . . .but porky likes ta lean onit most the time. . . .:)

I can vouch for Willo's oil method. You might find linseed oil at a saddlers/tack shop. Might be cheaper than the same stuff in a tin saying "Cricket Bat oil"!

Cheers

Hmmm I'll have a look......need to go get horse feed this week.
Thanks for the advice :)

Sorry but I thought "cricket bat oil" was just another name for linseed oil, therefore no reaction from this side of the water.:D :D :D
