Apologies if this has been asked before.
I have replaced my sidelights with LEDs and its a massive improvement.
Same with Puddle / Interior bulbs.

Got me thinking.

What about -

Main Beam
Dipped Beam
Indicators

Basically the front clusters.

I dont want to go buy stuff if 1. If dazzles others 2. Won't work.

Are there any proven replacements ppl have used?
If so, please point me in the right direction.

:)

The problem with LED indicators is that if one of the LED bulbs go, the little indicator on the dash behaves as normal whereas with the old bulbs, if one blows the indicator flashes faster.

Sweet thanks!
I'll look them up.
I have Xenons I think (I have no switch to manually dip my lights when towing - I also have the Green Double Ended Arrow warning light on dash) - but these will be brighter.

Well, looked a bit yellow compared to the LED :)
But it looks like I cant alternate.

So I need to see what 2x bulbs I need to upgrade.
So far as I can make out - 1 is Xenon - one isn't.
I am not with my car so - I think I'll have to leave it till I get home.

Those Osram night breakers look good - but I'll just check whats inside the light clam.

If you've already got xenon headlights I don't know why you want to change them, they are powerful enough aren't they?

Col

Not all FL2 projector headlights are Xenon (HID). Some projector headlights have H7 or H11 incandescent bulbs. The way to tell from in the car is to check for a beam level control. If you can manually alter the beam hight from inside the car, then the bulbs are incandescent. Auto levelling headings means HID bulbs are fitted.
What bulbs you buy depends on what you already have.

I DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT HAND SLIDER.

I'll open her up tonight - see what bulbs I need, I was being impatient - and thought to orer / buy in the day :)
I want Whiter Bulbs - only cos they look nicer - current ones are a little 'yellow'.

No beam control means HID bulbs are already fitted. Those are potentially the most powerful bulbs available. However they do age, getting dimmer in the process. They are also available in a variety of colour temps, ranging from 4,000°K to about 10,000°K. So simply getting some 5,000°K quality HID replacements, will do what you need. ;)

Thx Kernow.

Are both bulbs HID (main and Dip) ? - I ask because I can only see one movable lens.

I was thinking 6K - but I guess 5K is white too - thx for your help.

I find higher than 6K tiring when driving at night. The wife's E46 cabrio has 6,000K HIDs so they match the angel eyes. The colour is a good match too. I would prefer 5K for the reduced eye strain. But it's a personal thing I guess.

I've checked - the Xenon are still white.
Its the 'middle' lights that are yellow - as I look at them - they look like halogen bulbs.

I could go LED with them or Top Quality Halogen....
To match the colour.

Ok so it's the long range lamps that are yellow. You could use night breakers to whiten them up a bit. LEDs won't give you the same range as H7 bulbs. Those are only on when main beams are on, so the colour isn't that important as no one will be able to see them. ;)
