Hi all,
Does anyone know whether the Britpart lifted rear springs for Defender 110s have the same number of coils as their standard height equivalents? I believe I've got DA4206 (+40mm) on mine. I'd like to know whether DA4279 (standard height) have the same number of coils.
Thanks in advance - sorry for the odd request!

At the point I counted, they have 8coils.

Three really close at the top, one at the bottom, and 4 between.

One final question, if @mick 1986 or anyone else can help. DA4206 lifted springs are made of 17mm stock while the standard height DA4279 springs are listed as being made from 19mm dia material. Spring stiffness goes with the fourth power of stock diameter, so moving from 17mm to 19mm should increase stiffness by 50%. This doesn't line up with the spec sheets which say that the stock springs are about 9/8 as stiff as the lifted ones, which lines up with them having one less coil.

Are the standard DA4279 springs made from 17mm bar as well?
(Easiest way to check, if you don't have a set of calipers handy - put a 19mm spanner over the coil; if it has clearance to spare then they're 17mm; if they're 19mm coils then the spanner won't fit!)

I’m on nights tonight, but if I remember in the morning, I will check. I don’t think mine are the part numbers your quoting though, but are britpart 110 springs for a TD5.
