Freelander has now clocked up about 15k miles in 6 months and, other than the odd niggle, all seems well - I have never been that impressed with the brakes on the car but have put this down to the fact that I have previously owned 'sportier' cars and I am not used to the Freebies more 'leisurely' pace.
One thing I am now noticing is that the brakes make a sort of thudding noise when braking quite hard from anything above 50mph' ish - ie coming off the motorway, dual carriageway island etc. The noise slows with the speed of the car and it seems almost as if something has worn unevenly.
I am off on me jollies next week but will be booking it in on my return - does anybody have any ideas what this might be and also what sort of mileage I can expect from a set of brakes - OK I know that popular wisdom is that they won't last as long on an auto (although I usually tend to change down manually from speed) but 15k is a bit on the light side I would have thought - anybody any similar experience??
