Hello everyone,

First of all, thanks for the tip on my EAS problem - everything worked with the cable and the software.

Today I noticed that the brake light is always on. Turn the key to the 2nd position and the light comes on - without starting the engine.

Is it the brake light switch? I removed it today. The new one will arrive tomorrow. Or is it something else? Thanks

Yes it's a switch. You need to set it by pushing the pedal all the way down and pulling the brake switch plunger all the way out while you hold the pedal down

Thank you.
I pressed the PIN in completely when removing it (by mistake) - it looks like this - this is the one from today.

Do I have to set the new one somehow before installing it?
Do I have to push the PIN in or pull it out?

And when I insert the new one, do I turn it to the left? So from about 11:00 o'clock to 9:00 o'clock? Thank you!

Pull the pin fully out (but careful you dont over extend it)
Hold the brake pedal down while fitting the switch.
Then release the pedal, and it will self adjust the switch.

it doesnt matter if you pushed it all the way in, just pull it back out. its quite stiff and will click as you overcome the adjuster mechanism
what is wrong with the old one?
mine was damaged so i had to wedge it in place, there was no stock available every time i check.
unless it physically doesnt work, i'd use the old one and keep the new one in a drawer. in which case i'd keep the old one for spares/repair

At the rear?

Switch under the pedal needs adjusting or replacing.

hmmm, I've just gone for a drive and now ABS and TC are permanently lit up.

So the old switch seems to be broken after all? So replace it, right?

But the brake light works.

...but it came to 100% - after I removed the switch. I'm afraid I've broken something. Before that everything was fine except for the brake light.

Pump? the one from the brake? How do I check that?

The brake light switch doesn't cause the abs+tc lights, but low pressure will.
Ignition off. Pump the pedal 5 times. Ignition on but don't start the engine, you should hear the pump buzz a few seconds then stop.
Count how many times you pump the pedal before it buzzes again

The brake switch controls the circuit for the brake lights and the circuit for the cruise control if fitted 🤔 but the abs I'm not so sure about...
