Brake Changes

Hello just about to do my first brake overhaul replacing 11" cylinders 4 at front and 2 at back and me shoes anybody got good techniques and whioch tools will i need?
Whats this about a special spanner for the hoses??

Mek thisen a spring puller out of a piece of stiff wire, much easier than fannying around with pliers.

The 'special pliers' for the hoses would most likely be hose clamps for the flexible pipe portion of the brake line. They're to stop you losing too much fluid and stop air entering the system at the top.

Personally, I reckon they're a waste of time and can damage the flexi-hose - which if you think about it kind of defeats the object of replacing the brakes.

A better bet is to make a 'dead end' for the flexi hose out of old brake bits. Gob up the end of a female union with some araldite or liquid metal the night before you need it - make sure there's enough time for whatever you use to fully set before you use it - then whenever you need to stop a flexi hose from dripping just screw the male union end of the flexi hose into it after taking it off the backplate/caliper (depending on which brakes you've got).

You'll lose some fluid, yes, but not enough to need to worry about emptying the master cylinder.

It's about six inches!!!!!!!!!!! There all metric on mine think the cylinder nuts were 11mm
