Tried everything to get Bottom arm on steering rely box off, anyone got any smart or novel idea's....

Ta

MX!!!!!

I hammered a chisel into the split to spread it a bit and then used a wedge (ball joint splitter) hammered into the gap between the relay and the arm. Brutal, but effective. Never got the actual relay out, though.

Yeah I did the same - I went as far as hammering the ball joint splitter in as far as it would go then getting a jack under it!!!!!!!!!

Didn't move.....

Tried heat

Tried Plus gas

Next is grinder and new relay box.....

just done one on me slitty ( hack ptooh spit ) heated it up with acetylene didnt work tried a bearing puller kept slipping off so in the end cut a slit in the fekker with a grinder and hammered a bolster chisel into the cut then leathered it off with a 4lb lump hammer was a complete twot to get off

wait till you try and get relay out unless truck is in as new condition, put wider wedge in,hit with hammer on one side and another to take shock on other on outside of arm around shaft it will stretch it like removing ball joint it will come off

You could try removing the relay retaining plate followed by the relay bottom plate and then knock the whole shaft out - you can then get at the *'stard on the bench. I am assuming the top arm is off?

I have just done it...... Don't wreck the box, just kill the steering arm! I got a hacksaw and carefully cut very close to the splines but not damaging the box shaft. I then got some heat on the cut area, after which it was glowing. I then threw some very cold water on it and hit it with a lump hammer. Then it cracked and decoupled.

Hope this helps.

Got the fecker!!!!

Left it over night in a bag FULL of plus Gas. Then hammered in a wedge, then heated it, then got a jack on the ball joint splitter!!!!!!!!

Unbelievible...............
