bottom bit of bulkhead

does anyone know where I can get that bit that fixes to the bottom of the later s3 bulkheads that the gearbox tunnel flange bit bolts to, that is welded on to the earlier bulkhead.

I know I have seen them online for about £35 somewhere but I can't find them now I want one, someone also put up a link to them on here before but I can't find the thread with it in either.

Had the same issue when I replaced my bulkhead , advertised on various forums till some one came up with one for me.

if I can't find one I guess I can cut one out of the old bulkhead as the middle bit is fine, it was all the rest that had gone

That's what I'll be doing on mine, I've managed to pick up a Series 3 bulkhead with knackered footwells and vents are but the firewall is mint so chopping and welding here we come

I think I know the bit you mean. It tends to rust at the drivers side edge near the transfer leaver. I've always kept an eye open for them at autojumbles but never come across one.

there was one went for a fiver a few weeks ago on ebay, it was in Sheffield and the guy wouldn't post it, I figured £150 in petrol wasn't worth it for a £5 piece of metal

there is one on there at the moment for £18 but I think it is from a different type of bulkhead, 6 pot or v8 maybe, looks too square

tried their site couldn't see anything, might give them a call and see it I can explain it.

finally found the old thread that mentioned it

looks like it was Pegasus parts, found something that looks similar but it might be a piece you have to weld in c.f. the actual piece I need.

still I might be able to drill holes to fit it to the bolt holes in the bh, then weld it in later when I have learned

Pegasus part turned up today, sadly it isn't the exact piece I wanted, it is just the bit that is welded on to the earlier bulkheads so doesn't have the extra bit for the bolts to go through, should do the job though.

better get on with learning to weld and practice

snagged the right one on the bay, probably overpaid but they don't often come up, and its rare to find a seller willing to post. Plus I want to take the truck for an mot by beginning aug so tempus fugit as they say, time for a carpe diem
