im after a bosche manual injection pump to replace the edc one on the wif's other disco.

anyone got a spare kicking about ?

i think theres a problem with the electronics of this auto disco, its got me defeated and the easy solution is to just de - edc it.

Is this the immobiliser function on the EDC?

I just hate electronics when they go wrong and have a manual system means its emminently "fixable" when your in the middle of no where :)

Yep it's the immobiliser function. Engine ECU's are surprisingly robust.
If you search, I believe that some bright spark has posted a mod to bypass the immobiliser function. Long time ago though, I should have kept the details.
In general I agree about mechanical stuff being easier to fix. I want a DS21:)

ummmm

wouldnt that lead you to being able to steal discos with impunity?

well im not worried about someone nicking one of our vehicles, i was more thinking if someone had posted it up on the forum :)

I have a early 300 pump here in fact the whole engine to break. £60.00 plus the post for the pump.

No one with a Hawkeye / nanocom / testbook etc up near you to read the codes?

Just to see if it is the immobiliser??

Just googlemapped the distance to you... 175 !! bit far mate, sorry!!

Must be somebody closer!! - is it worth another general thread or PM a mod who might know???

by the time he managed to find someone, he'll have sold 3 cars, moved twice and bought another 4 bangers :D :p

ah if its just defeating the fuel stop solenoid what not that was easy, and its been rewired to get it to work as well. Its the ecu immobiliser i am struggling with.
