Hi everyone,
my dad recently replaced my reverse light switch on my disco 2 however the lights only work when I hold it in reverse anyone no what i can do to fix this problem? ..
I also have a problem with my boot it doesn't unlock with the key fob I actually have to get in the boot from back seats and open it with the inside handle, altho my quick fix is a piece of string I can now pull from back seats, it's actually very frustrating, anyone have any advise for me?
Many thanks Gemma

Re rear door-
before you change it, try this quickly (could be it is actually unlocking but the handle is sticking);
Remove the Landrover badge above the external rear door handle. Squirt liberally with Wd40 or the like. Try again!
This has fixed a few that wouldn't unlock, including mine.

Thanks disco DJ I did try that a couple of weeks ago but that didn't work, so I'm guessing Its had it and I'd need to replace mechanism. Biggeee not sure what that is or where I can get one was trying eBay but looks like I need to ask try someone who's breaking a disco. Does anyone no if a disco 1 has the same mechanism?
Thanks for replys both of you. I'm new to this so any help is more then welcome.. also only have one key that doesn't even fit the door lock so I'm hoping that fob doesn't fail or I'm screwed

I wouldnt go down the road of 2nd hand route.
Google search the part no FQR100570
ebay these days isnt always cheaper. Most parts suppliers will do free delivery if you spend over £50.
A lot of ebayer shops might seem cheaper but chances are the part will come in a little blue box with Britpart on it.
In you introduction you didnt put a location in where you are coz you never know someone might be close to you who can help.

if switch works ok your fault would be worn selector yoke , it would need top pulling off to change or remove and weld the wear up
