Which of course is the reason so many are like that.Not all , buy a LHD, you'll have it on the driver's side then
Made to be sold to the vast majority of countries that drive on the righ!!

..and the conclusion is: if you drive on the right side you have the bonnet release on the driver's side and if you drive on the left side you have it on the wrong side

Except that it might be safer to be able to break down and then stand on the safe side of the vehicle while opening the bonnet!..and the conclusion is: if you drive on the right side you have the bonnet release on the driver's side and if you drive on the left side you have it on the wrong side
Just wanted to be able to get to the engine bay as quicky as possible in case of a fire. I'll look around online and see if there's a way to route a second length of cable to the driver side. Posted here hoping someone else might have already tried it.

I can remember the days when you could fit an underbonnet fire extinguishing system, but the problem was that it used a gas/fluid which was bad for the ozone layer. Fluoron or something. But they were good, self actuating or activate from a button in the cabin. Lots of rally cars had them.yeah something like that

I did come across these while researching online ..... I'm unsure/worried about the laws here. I'm not too familiar with them .. and have a bunch to fix with the vehicle. So a fire extinguisher and being able to get to the hood as quicky as possible feels like the best option for now. Also those systems I believe use ABC powder which is hard to clean later. I agree about dry powder, it leaves an awful mess.
What specifically are you worried about? A fuel fire? Burning while welding?

If you are handy and inspired enough you can improvise with a short piece of solid wire with it's end hidden under the front grille but easy to grab, nobody but you will know about it and you can open the bonnet without even opening a door... i've seen a tutorial about this long time ago but i can't find it
I'm in the UK as well.
this is a great suggestion.. glad you mentioned it. Will try this instead of routing a second length of cable to the drivers side.
