Bonnet Open Sensor Fault?

Ok. It's quite a common problem on the F2 and D3/4. It's either the sensor has failed, but it's just as common for the plug to be loose, or not latched to the sensor.

Where is the sensor on these please - I'll have a look.

It's an integral part of latch assembly.

To test the circuit, unplug the switch (if actually plugged up) and link the 2 contacts in the harness plug (bonnet up). Try locking with the key, it should now lock without an error. If so it's the switch at fault.

I'm glad this was on here, only had the FL2 a week and had this fault develop. Bridging the connections in the plug solved the issue of being able to lock and set the alarm with the remote so ordered and have just received a replacement catch and sensor (The updated new version). Hoping it's going to be a fairly easy job to replace (Given that the FL2 grill is integral with the bumper so have to go through from the side by removing the Headlight)

So just been out with the new Catch and sensor (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BONNET-C...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649) on my FL2 and 15 Minutes later Job all done, turned out to be a lot easier than i expected. Removed Headlight, unbolted the old Catch then released the cable with a screwdriver. Then discovered the new catch will fit just nicely through the gap between the slam panel and Rad (The updated design is narrower). so fitted the Cable into place, maneuvered the Catch through the gap and then bolted it back in place, then with a screwdriver pushed the catch to test the release was going to work when i pulled the bonnet release catch (It did), then tested that everything was lined up and didn't need any adjustment (IE closed the bonnet). Finally plugged the sensor back in, refitted the headlight and job done. Turned out to be almost as easy as when i saw the video of it being changed on a Disco3.
