Ok basically im screwed , ive bought a freelander on behalf of a friend and the more I look at it the more I can see wrong with it !! The direction control doesnt change on the blowers , its a 2002 so im assuming a cable has stretched it snapped somewhere , Is there anywhere I can reach under and push or pull to change the direction of the airflow?? Second question ive just discovered a cd multi changer under the drivers seat that seems to have power to it but its an aftermarket cd player , would it work , if so how could I get it to work ?? Ive got a series 3 , im not used to all this crap ! Thanks in advance

Does the knob not move? Or move and nothing happen?

Depends on whether it has an aftermarket stereo or not? More information needed.

if so how could I get it to work ?
Depends on answer to above question.

My commiserations o_O

Really? Having a series 3 I'm sure you're used to much more trouble. :p

Its almost like a quiz !

Just a bit of fun.;)
Aftermarket stereo
Check with the manufacturers wiring diagram to see everything is hooked up properly.
blower dial does turn and knob isnt damaged so is turning switch

Is it the direction knob or fan knob that won't turn? If it's the fan knob, then just replace the switch.
If it's the direction knob then it'll be the cables gone stiff(there are 2), or one has come off, throwing the cable timing out. You need to stick your head where the clutch pedal would be, so you can take a look at the cables and there flap levers.
