Blank chassis plate?

I'm registering my 300Tdi in France, and need the details off the chassis plate under the bonnet.

According to the manual, I'm supposed to find the Type Approval Number, VIN no., max laden weight, max vehicle and trailer weight, and max front and rear axle loads.

Apart from the VIN, everything on my car is blank.

a) Why?

b) Can anyone give me the missing info?

Bloody French bureaucracy....

Not sure why this is the case, but I have seen quite a few that seem to have nothing stamped on other than the vin...

All I can suggest is you get in contact with a dealer, and see if they can help...
