Bizarre central locking fault

Hey guys, woke this morning to the alarm going off, no shenanigans observed. Though the fob failed to do anything. Alarm silenced went back to bed. Later, fob won't unlock doors, changed battery and tried spare key - nothing. Key opens door and engine starts but can't open any other doors, and indicators don't work, or fog lights. Central locking fuse is good. Could it be the central locking solenoid? Also, there is a weird flashing alert on the odometer digital display, but can't find it in the handbook. Help! Mot booked for tomorrow...

That’s the little bugger. Further observations- fob makes the interior lights come on and that red led flash rapidly. Which is nice, but I’d prefer the doors opened and the indicators work...
 
****widgets. That’s a ball acher. I see Turner Diagnostics do an exchange service. Are there any other tests I can do or should I just have the BCU out and send it off?

Thank you guys. A couple of links to chase down. I spotted someone talking about a magic internet fixing wand on one thread. Anyone know where I might find this?
 
Thanks Sierrafery, I’m tracking down an IDM now as well as looking for alternative transport whilst I de-gremlin the beast.
