This is the current state of my 2010 TD4e. Can anyone correctly guess the job I was trying to do - which inevitably turned in to 6 jobs lol!
I've got an alternator pulley to change too. I'm getting some belt oscillations at idle.Yes! Pretty much.
I set out to replace the clutch on the A/C compressor and now I'm replacing all the pulleys and the belt. I also, accidentally, bought filters and fluids while I was at it....
She deserves a treat!
P.S. I tried removing the alternator freewheel pulley thing myself. I tried 3 different impact guns and one long breaker bar - no dice.
I took it to me mate at the garage who had to weld a pipe to his bar and use an inch drive gun to free it off. No idea why it was so set on remaining in place but, it's off now.
HG = Head gasket. Mine is suffering from coolant pressurising if I take it over 2k RPM, or use more than 50% power.Excuse my ignorance, what's the HG please?
I'm doing the alternator pulley, A/C pulley and tensioner. I can't find an idler pulley, the power steering pump seems fine and I'm not touching the crank pulley.
Don't jinx it
That's the plan. I've got a growing collection of bits (throttle body, alternator pulley, O2 sensor) to fit while it's all apart, which now extends to a thorough clean of the Haldex, rear diff and PTU oil change too. That makes sense. May as well do all the other bits and pieces while you've got space
Both those items are very fragile and finicky, so it's important to keep them healthy, along with the Haldex too.I haven't done the rear diff of PTU yet! I'll be doing engine and gearbox oil at the weekend and I'm replacing the fuel and air filters tomorrow.
