Hi all, just bought a 2003 90. Currently got Boost alloys and BFG AT 235/85/R16 tyres.

I need the widest wheels/tyres and largest diameter tyres without a lift or wheel spacers and ideally retaining the standard wheel arch/spats. TBH more for the look than any other reason.

(After far too many hours of research on this site and the rest of the interweb) I know these will fit just fine:
  • 305/70R16 tyres on 8x16 steel modulars
  • 33x12.5R15 tyres on 10x15 steel modulars (but I know I would need to replace the spats due to the 50mm overhang)
...but would like alloy wheels that look kind of original (not too different from Boost) – which rules out Zhu and Mach 5.

Anyone got Offender 8x16 rims with 305/70 (or bigger) tyres? Need wheel spacers? (I note the offset is 25mm but only 8mm on the 8x16 steel mods). Any other issues?

Any other suggestions for alloys for either of the above tyre sizes?

Cheers, Tel

265/75r16 (32x11.5?) is about the biggest you can go on your current alloys, no spacers or wide arches. Anything else above this will require one of these and/or a lift.

Thanks Steve. btw your previous posts were very helpful in narrowing the choice.

On the hunt for alloys, looked at many web sites in the Defender alloys section there is not much choice above 16x7. I suspect ther are many other that would fit such as compomotive, but not sure which ones fit.

would like bigger tyres, so looking for alternative alloys. Hoping to find some alloys where the offset is low (it's 8mm for the 16x8 steel mods) or negative (its -32mm with the 15x10 steel mods). Rims need to be at least 8".
