Hi all,

I how you can help me with my freelander L Series.
I was travelling on motor way towing a horse trailer when I started to loose power after I hear pop noise and then a whooshing noise. I pulled of and lifted the bonnet to find the entire engine bay covered in oil. After a good mooch around I found that the large diameter hose from the top of the engine going to the front of the truck on the passenger side which I believe is the intercooler had popped off spraying oil everywhere.

I reattached hose, topped up oil and set off. As soon as turbo kicked in the hose had blown off again. Is this a problem that I can get some help with.

Thanks

Rob

Sounds like the turbo has failed filling the intercooler with oil and causing the hose to pop off.
If this is the case you're one lucky puppy for the engine not to rev itself to destruction.
My advice is NOT to run the engine again until you have had the turbo checked out proppa.
