best shocks for parabolics

as above guys, got a swb 2a petrol came with paras. already fitted but its a very harsh ride Ithink the guy I bought it from said he fitted heavy duty shocks but I cannot see any name on them, so what would be the best ones to fit for a softer ride, I do not carry any heavy stuff in it just my two lurchers,

Gas dampers/ shocks are best for parabolics whitch move more than standard springs,they disapate the greater heat developed by said movement better.

I've got oems on mine. Was horrible until I realised that the muppet that had fitted the parabolics hadn't properly tightened the shackle bolts.

That meant that the bushes were only damping the vibration. Not good. The shackle bushes are supposed to be a part of the damping system, and need to be clamped up hard at the proper ride height.

For that reason, don't even think about polybushes unless you want to do your own research into dampers. (Poly's won't be clamped and so won't do what LR intended).

Definitely Pro-Comp ES9000 shocks. I have them fitted to mine and they are a fantastic ride.

Paddocks are cheap for ES3000's.

Does anyone know if the Monroe & De Carbon ones are standard length or long like the Pro Comp?

I'm fitting Paras to mine, is it a case of pro Comp only?

I think De Carbon are better shocks if they're the same length as the ES3000 I'll get them instead.

I've got De carbon on the front on mine cos they have a smaller diameter than procomp and don't hit the steering bar as much. The ones i've got are +2" and are about 8 years old,the rears were De carbon as well but were replaced 2years ago due to them leaking.

So they're good for 6 years, that's OK. What are they like and what have you replaced the rear ones with?

I didn't know fouling of the steering was an issue with ES3000's, thanks for the info.

I was impressd with them and I replaced them with pro-comp, only because De carbon were a lot more expensive.

My series has got leaf springs but disco axles so the steering bar is at the back of the axle and on full lock the bar hits the bottom of the shocker,not a great problem but smaller diameter shocks helps a bit
