I've been using Bearmach parts since I don't know when and have never had a problem, until now.

Fitted a new lift pump (S11 2.25 diesel) last week and it failed on Saturday. Replacement arrived today, fitted and didn't make it home. Basically it's no longer sucking.

(The first replacement pump was because I overtightened the banjo bold on the original pump and stripped the thread).

So, what's the best make of pump to go for? (Except Landy original, they just quoted me £192 +VAT )

Any of the OEM manufacturers - TRW is one that springs to mind for the same part on a 2.5D. Just get a reputable brand and you should be fine - or take the original (if you still have it after the last two) and put a rebuild kit into it - it's not hard.

I have rrebuild and run successfully 50-year-old AC fuel pumps - there's not a lot there to go wrong if you rebuild it.

Whatever you do avoid Britpart. I fitted one to my series 3 diesel and it was difficult to get the nuts on the body shape looks wrong compared to an original. However it has worked for three years now.
