Hi Folks

Well its like this, I don't have a landie, but I do have a shogun. ( I just know you folks are asking why the hell I am in a land rover forum then!). This is the only place I could find anyone interested in Green Laning in Bedfordshire. I've found some interesting lnes open to use at the moment, but being a complete novice I am reluctant to try them alone (getting stuck with wife and two kids in the car is not my idea of fun!)

Anyone want to explore some of the local lanes? Found some on the A505 toward Hitchin and just west of Barton le Clay.

Cheers to you all!

Chris

ARGGGGHHHHH!!! A slitty! You'll get a ton of **** ripped out of you for that! Then someone will help you. Have you checked out the green lane section?

Nope your are mistaken.....we sell light bulbs here......shhh no one tell him

cmon lads telll him where the lanes are then charge him afew ton to recover him an donate 50p ta the site

by the way welcome keep reading and get converted by the way ya ever seen a 60 year old shogun tackle an off rd course?????

Ah well, I s'pose I asked for that. I was told the Shogun is the poor mans land rover... and with four kids I definitely qualify as a poor man! And... to be fair I ended up with it more by luck than judgement.... and I bet there's not much of the land rover produced in britain these days! However to each his own!

My mate had one and used to rip the **** outta me for my 'Tractor' as he called it. My 'tractor' is more economical, never gets stuck (ooh ooh find some wood quick) and is still going. His s****n cost the earth to run and broke down every five mins. It is now where it belongs....The scrappy.:D

Moral of the story.....'It aint fit to be called a poor mans Landy' Thats what the gaylander is for.:D :D :D

C'mon guys, give Ryder a chance to get converted, it'll be great fun when we have to keep helping him out, would make some great shots and eventually we'll have another convert.:D

Ryder, yes, you will get the p ripped out of you, yes, we'll help you out, laugh at your expense, then buy you a pint in the pub. One day , when your shogun breaks terminally, one of us will help you choose the right LR.:p

In the meantime, welcome, and as you ain't too far from me, you may want to look http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f13/lane-day-around-hertford-52230.html

After following a heard of Landrovers around on a lane day (with a tow rope pulling him along:D ) It may well be he converts sooner rather than later.

seriously....It will give people a chance to see what the real difference is. Most mitsi owners take the **** outa landy owners for having uncomfortable bricks on wheels. Most landy owners take the **** outa jap cr*p owners cos they are rubbish off road.:p I rekon it's a good idea especially if ryder takes the missus too so she (the holder of the purse strings) can appreciate that there IS a difference and might let im spend out on a Landy after all.:D :D :D

Well thanks for the invitation, we accept! I'll happily buy the beers, you are welcome to take the **** and the bar will welcome some new income I am sure! Bear in mind though, we've never done this before so we have no idea what we've let ourselves in for (I don't think the baby really cares as long she's well fed and the radio keeps working!)

This is a completely bog standard motor, with bog standard tyres n everything. I am guessing there's gear we gonna have to bring along with us, but aside from common sense we've little idea what that might be. (A landie on a trailer is out of the question)

You know what... this might turn out to be a bit of a laugh!

Cheers

Chris

Had a good morning out with Ryder this morning. Did the lanes around Hitchin & Whitwell. Nothing too serious, but had a good time.

I was right... this really was a bit of a laugh! Thanks to Spyderman for being such a good guide! Didn't get stuck and learned a few valuable lessons!
