Becm problems

Hi all just got my becm bac from the repair shop my fitter has had it sent away and had some work done to it he's a good macanic and not to pricey all he normley works on is rr and jags and he normally no everything about rr but he refitted the becm and he says the car now won't start he Has got all the diagnostic kits available so no's the eka code he said to me the becm isn't talking to to the ecu any ideas would b much appreciated Iv had a look at sirus section becm explained but can't find why they ain't comunicating with each other sorry for long story but wanted to try explaine as much as poss oh 1999 p38 4.6 Thor cheers

Trust he has tried re-syncing it...

BECM needs syncing to the engine ECU. You need diag or a Syncmate to do that.

Will give him a ring tommorrow coz my nanocom is in the glovebox so he should b able to re sync with that but I'm sure he would have done all that

All you have to do with that on a Thor is press security learn and it should be up and running. What was the problem with the BECM?

The becm got wet I posted on here a couple of months ago some of my lights were staying on after I switched car of an staying on Saint v8 suggested becm knacked got the garage to check it out and it had a couple ov burnt out parts on it so was goin to take it down to rick in Brighton but then the aircon started to leak so got the garage to sort it all out

Needs specialist stuff to play with BECMs. Did they send it somewhere or play with it themselves? Rick would have been the better option.

As above.
You sure you have got the same BECM back? Not many people around that can delve into the BECM sucessfully.

Yer the fella that's got the the car is a mate and also he ad the becm out about 4 years ago when it had a problem sent it away and got it done ok he may even b sending it to rick I'm not sure

Just found out the becm was sent away to turners so don't fink the problem lays with that I'm sure my mechanic will get to the bottom ov the problem

Oh feck.
Turners eh! Dear ole Eric Turner.

I wouldn't hold out any hope at all regarding his repairs. He CAN't repair!
However, he will say the becm is unrepairable & sell him another. I know this as the chap who supplies his becm to him has been in contact with me just this week sprouting his concerns about Eric Turner.
Use this chap at your peril.

& for christs sake, never ever send him A disco 2 BCU. This chap is unbelievable in the way he operates.

Well spoke to my fitter rick he said it's not another becm it's the same one he sent and as said before he sent it away about 3 or 4 years ago to have it repaied and it came back all ok hopefully b ok this time

Why won't my becm link with ecu the security codes are the same but car won't start any ideas chaps my fitter is pullin his hair out cheers

They could well be linked. The problem could be under the bonnet.

Re reading this thread, & knowing turners have had your becm & it hasn't started since, you might be to let me see this becm & ecu.

Hi Rick just spoke to my fitter he tried another ecu in the car and brought himself something called a oscyscope I fink he Said and a new cam sensor all to no avail he's got another mototronic coming in tommorrow for airbag faults so he's going to swap becm and ecu c what occurs will keep u posted

Oscilloscope methinks which will not be a lot of help unless the guy can read rapid data streams on a screen trace, it will show that there is something happening but not what is happening.
