Okay, call me ignorant but, I did not know that Land Rovers, especially Defenders, are known for being cold. I read that here, which ironically gave a shout-out to this type of forum, and then also read this, which was about prepping yours for the cold - am I the only one who hasn't felt the cold while driving around? I have a few, different models, and I don't even wear a coat in them haha

Yeah, mobile cold store if you ask me! I’ve got bits of soundproofing/lagging everywhere. Tried every trick in the book to get the beast to warm up(300 tdi 90). Warm air just demists the window…just🤬. I made my peace with the green monster and just accept it’s cold city when on the move…Norfolk will be slightly warmer 😉than say the middle of the Cairngorms where I go for a rake…jus sayin…sleeping bag suit works a treat when in the hinterland. ✌🏻

hahaha oh dear! So frustrating - I hope you continue to keep yourself warm! I may have to get myself one of those sleeping bag suit for my travels :p Genuinely did not realise this was so common, wow!!

Maybe you can search for the thread that helps point you to re-furb your heater box and flushing the heater matrix ...

My defender puma has a heater like a volcano. And botty warmer seats. And air con for summer. You need to buy the right defender :p

Popffff series 1 no heater,door seals,etc
You lot have too many luxuries

(As for the 90 heater, rad muff for the winter months warms things up faster)

The heater on my old series 3 was the best heater I’ve ever had in any vehicle! In the winter, I had to often open the window! A truck cab makes it much warmer and a headlining helps stop the condensation.

+1 for the rad muff idea.

I did pal, rebuilt the old beast which i finished last year. Just done the head gasket and gave the block a good flush, radiator too and new heater matrix and bled the system as per manual and its still pretty poor, its a bugger. Heater box was stripped down and rebuilt too...land rovers eh

They still should be quite warm, did you check the door seals etc ?

I did pal. Actually fitted new ones as I replaced both doors with new ones. The old doors were rotted out. I just wonder if the heater matrix was not of best quality and was not doing the heat exchanging effect very good. Checked every part of the system.
