More help please ! I need to fit a battery isolator to my 90, he problem I have is what is the best place to site the isolator, and also connected to the battery + side is a small brown wire, what will I connect it to ? Do I wire it to the switch on the OFF side.
Thanks.

BATTERY DISCONNECT SWITCH CUT OUT 2 Keys | eBay

Brought myself one of them

Then made a hole in the front of the battery housing area under the passenger seat - so that the end you turn on & off sits by the passengers feet.

Then a simple thing of battery one side and car the other side.

All done and dusted worked fine Very easy install. You can put it anywhere though just dependant on how love your battery lead is. There are other options on the market but it ment removing my seat every time to engage power.

Hope that helps.

Am guessing the small brown wire from the battery positive will be something that a previous owner has added

Most likely to be a permanent positive feed to say a radio to retain the memory settings

I had 2 of them coming from my landy - but it was draining the battery - so decided that i can put up with retuning each time or buy an oldschool radio with the wheel dials

You're better off with the metal key versions cos them with the plastic keys like to melt.;)

I have a isolator switch fitted under the seat of the battery box. Mine is a LHD Defender so I am always getting in and out of the same side. When working in the forest I often accidently hit the isolator switch with my foot and switch it off. If I was doing it again I would put it somewhere else. But mine is a LHD.
