Hi i was looking for any advice regarding my 1999 land rover freelander, the battery clamp bolt is just spinning in the housing and i cannot release the clamp to remove the battery, has any one out there experienced this issue and could someone point me in the right direction to resolving this, kind regards Taproomdave...

try and wedge a screwdriver under the head of the bolt and lever it up as you try to unscrew it, the back pressure may well stop it just spinning. sounds like the threads are stripped.

This happened to mine. The bolt is held captive in the battery tray and sometimes it breaks free and spins if it rusts up. I had to chop the top of the bolt off with a dremel. Then remove the battery tray and chop the bolt out of the tray. Fit a bolt of your own as a better replacment.
