BATT OK every now and then want start somthing draining batt very quick with engine off start with fresh batt switch off and start like nothing happened 14v charging can go a week with no problem then will let me down again

Could be the alternator if the battery is draining quickly.

Ok you have checked for voltage, but what have u done in checking currant drain?
