please could anyone tell me the procedure for testing the current draw on a RR 4.6 vogue , ive been experienacing the classic batt drain after 2-3 days of not starting will buy a new batt but want to make sure it is the batery itself , also wot figures should i get on draw any help would be great .

You need an accurate multimeter set to amps, with the key out of the ignition, you need to undo the battery neg terminal and fiddle the 2 meter leads in between the neg lead and the neg battery post.Be careful not to activate any electrical activity - opening doors etc.after the interior lamps have gone off the current draw should be about 0.8a,it will stay like this for a couple of mins and then should step doen to 0.030 - 0.020 A.If it does watch it for a while to make sure nothing wakes it back up again to 0.8A.
If it wont drop down to the low figure, abort and disconnect the rf receiver inside the rhr window ( follow the yellow/brown strip down the glass) and try again. If it goes to sleep with it disconnected then there is something working on or near 433mhz close by that is interfering - you either need to switch it off or try to park elsewhere.
There is a new rf receiver pn ywy500170 that seems to ignore everything except the cars fob, fitted one a couple of weeks ago and it worked a treat - heard nothing of the customer since.
If it still wont go to sleep then try removing the three 60A maxifuses from the eng compartment fusebox,if this works then your fault is underbonnet. Then if that does not work you are looking at a body electrical fault - Good luck - thats where the fun really starts.
