Hi All,
I had a new battery fitted to my freelander 1 yesterday (£90) as it kept draining and i thought it was U/S and this morning the car was making a continuous bloop bloop sound, as it was dark i left it until it was lighter and it had stopped but the battery was drained again.
Anyone had this problem before or know what it could be.
Thanks
Doog

there is some serious leakage there probably the bloop sound might be because the battery is being shorted whatch it does not explode i saw a lorry battery explode once covering the mechanic in acid they rushed him of to hostpital , he tried to sue but it was his own fault traping a wire.

You need to disconnect the battery and stick an ammeter in there. It will tell you the current consumption when everything is turned off. It should be miliamps, if its not, you will have a problem.

Hi Guys
Thanks for the replies, took it to an auto electrician and it was draining at 20 amps it turned out to be the glow plug relay was stuck on so have pulled out the fuse and get a new relay on thursday, should be fun trying to start it in the morning but if all else fails I'll stick the fuse back in untill it starts then pull it out again.
Thanks again
