Hi from bagpuss just bought a landrover 300tdi and happy with it apart from the lack of power climing hills is there anything that i can do to improve the performace to my new purchace.

you could try chipping it about 400 quid regards colin

or get a V8?!

You can't chip the 300tdi(well, the defender version anyway), but you can tweak the fuel pump and have a new intercooler fitted. Tweaking the fuel pump will make a bit of a difference and any landrover garage can probably do this for you for not so much dosh. I got my intercooler from jeremy j fearn and it makes my defender 300tdi go very nicely indeed!

hehe, the way my right foot works I've never noticed an increase in fuel consumption, but my defender definately consumes a lot of fuel!

Yes probably the best thing is to get a larger intercooler increases the power to something in region of 135bhp should fly up those hills.
