Anybody know if a Company manufactures an extra diesel tank for a 90 utilising the original tank & filler pipe?
I do alot of miles and I seem to spend more time filling up than driving.
Also any ideas on cost, and if anybody as done it, where did you locate the other tank?

put a Td5 tank at the rear (you'll need two brackets - easy to have made), use a series filler surround and get a plastic filler tube from a disco. It all aligns up perfectly. Tis what I am doing / have almost finished

You can pick up a TD5 tank for about £50 and a tdi sender that fits for under £20. Then either a land rover cradle to support the tank at £18 or an armoured one for £55-100.

You can then either have two fuel gauges and a switch over for the two tanks, or a pump to fill one tank from the other.

While you're at it, you could use one of the tanks for veg oil...

Hey muddy, looking good. I saw the other photo a week or so ago with a shot from the front. You had two filter housings attached. I'm assuming one was for veg and the other for diesel? How does that work?

Thanks - aye one for each and an upgrade from the old TD filter to 200tdi. Diesel goes to drivers side one, veg goes to heat exchanger then other filter. Both then go to switching valve, which then goes thru lift pump to injector. Run off goes back to valve where it mixes with incoming fuel before doing the whole lift pump engine malarky again. When on veg the valve is heated electrically. When going back to diesel the valve purges to the veg tank for 30 seconds or so. Theres a couple of red filters to protect the system from dislodged crud too.

When not on veg (like on an expedition) I just turn off the leccy heater and the heat exchanger.

Might still fit a heating band to the veg filter for cold weather. I'll see how it goes.

Safari equip are quoting £305.00 plus VAT for a mild steel 50 litre tank and they can't fit, secondly you have to have a separate filler (which i'm not keen on) further your fuel gauge wont show the amount of fuel combined for both tanks and they also reckon it will take 4 hours at least to install and recommend it's done profesionally

Hmmmm, getting on for £600.00 all in. Not so sure I can warrant that
