Hi, I have a 1996 p38 2.5 bmw, the belt snapped on it a few days ago, had a mobile mechanic out to look at it and he said the the tentioner had failed, that was the reason the belt shreaded. I ordered a new belt and tentioner from gsf parts and the mechanic has fitted the new belt and tentioner but can't seem to get the bottom bolt in for the tentioner as the holes aren't lined up. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 🙏🏻

The auto tensioner for the main belt or the cam type for the aircon belt?
It doesn't have air con, very basic model, it's the alternator belt, drive belt. The new belt is on but only the top bolt of the tensioner. We can't figure out how to make the bottom bolt holes line up. Thanks
