Greetings!
Car: Land Rover Freelander 2001
My country decided to make a new rule so that all cars must have working power windows, which means you'll fail your yearly technical inspection if your car is in perfect working order but one of your rear power windows ain't feeling well that particular day. Also they doubled the price for the inspection somewhere between the lines. Go Serbia.
Anyhow, since both of my right side windows ain't working decided to open the doors up. Front one, the plastic 'guides' or however they're called, broke and the cable got jammed inside the winding housing (also idk how its called exactly). Needs new cable and those plastics, I found that so its good.
The thing is, the rear window also met the same fate, but someone before me was a real hacker and they did some stuff. There is some small plastic guide that I don't know if its from the metallic frame and got snapped so someone tied it with a wire, or is it part of the housing where the windup wheel is, or it's its own piece. The cable while it was going up and down, cut into the side of it, so that's also bad and could be the reason why the cable got damaged.
My question is, can I buy it somewhere alone? Can it be changed? What is it exactly (and what does it do) and how to I replace it, or do I need to buy a new frame?
Don't mind the cable, I'll get a new one either way. That thing that's connected to the white plastic thing, and tied with a wire. That's what I'm talking about.
Also, if what I'm talking makes no sense and it's not how all this is done, please do let me know and show me da wei.
Final question: When the cable is being rolled onto the plastic wheel in the housing, is there some video or a tutorial how it should be wound? Or will the motor do that?
At least point me to some good topics or posts I should check.
Thanks a lot fellas, hope you all have a great day!
