This is an update from a previous thread regarding the srs light on my freelander, i got the autel al619 this morning and it worked great, Belt pretensioner right, resistance too high, i cleared the code then went for a drive so far it as stayed off.

When i got back i rescanned the airbag function, no codes.

Thought i'd scan the obd and it came back with a p0141 code o2 heater element malfuntion even though the mil light wasn't on, the o2 sensor, sensor 2 voltage on the live data seemed to be sticky over 1 volt, i tested the heater element with a multimeter and got an infinity reading/open circuit so i changed the sensor and all seems ok, the voltage is jumping around below 1 volt.

I'm well impressed so it's a big thumbs up for the al619 as it does srs abs and obd.

It will work with other landrover models aswell, Defender, Discovery, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Freelander, New Range Rover, Range Rover Evoque are listed in the code reader to choose from aswell as most europen, asian and american cars.

It came with V4.30 softawre installed, when i registered online i was told there were five updates for other cars available bmw, toyota the other 3 i can't remember so free software updates aswell.

If anyone's thinking of getting a code reader the autel al619 worked well for me, all in it cost £105 that included import tax and shipping from amazon in the states.:):):):):)

pleased it worked for u mate, had the same problem and then put my hawkeye on it and cleared it as i also thought it would go out on its own

at least ur not at the mercy of the dealer all the time

when i plugged mine in went through every single code then cleared them , then every few months plug it in to see if any things a miss

nice to know what does and doesnt work

might be a daft question
just wondering if I order 1 from the usa will it work in the uk are all the tests and setting the same ??only I ve found 1 for £80.88 +£8.08 shipping on amazon

Yes it will work in the UK, i got mine from amazon in the states and it works, you can choose what format you want the data displayed in english or metric in the setup menu, the choice is yours.

The link i've posted above was to the amazon.com site in the usa where i got mine for 130 dollars.

Today just now when i clicked on the link it now redirects me to amazon.co.uk site were they are 178 pounds, i did not get it from the uk, thats naughty of who ever changed the link.

I'm thinking of deleting the link, i don't want anyone paying over the odds for one.

Nobody this end has changed the link. The likes of google and amazon do whatever the hell they like, with whatever they like from the millions of bits of info they gather daily. If you're in the uk they want you using the uk site.....

I'm going to have a cuppa before I start getting paranoid

Cookie anyone?

I just clicked on my first link and it still takes me the uk one so i've just copied the us one again to repost it, i'm using vista don't know if this makes a difference to why i get pointed to the uk site.

NEW LINK

Amazon.com: Autel AL619 OBDII/CAN Scan Tool: Automotive

To the computer geek working for amazon or google sat in silicon valley leave this link alone as i will only repost the new one.

Still takes you to the UK site, but if you change the co.uk to .com in the address bar it takes you to the US site.

Expect a call from GCHQ anytime soon for subversive attitudes

Looks good at that price.

Sorry to bring back an old thread ........... but I am thinking of getting one of these to sort out an ABS light issue. I have an old L Series diesel - would it read the engine codes - I noted that the icarsoft reader can't read the L series Bosch ECM - I wonder if the Autel can?

Thanks

Gareth

What year is your freelander?

I've just plugged my autel into my freelander, then went into the freelander abs section, it as year ranges and the first starts from 1998.

I don't know if it will work with your freelander, you can email autel and ask, i emailed autel.us before i got mine and they replied within 24 hours.
