Are my Glow Plugs Working

My conversion is 300Tdi in to what was 2.5Na.
The plugs are wired together with the Black/Yellow wire, but theirs nothing from the end one going anywhere , When I hold the Ignition against spring just before starting this light comes on bottom row. Is this the Glow Plug light ? If so are they heating up ? Or do I need to connect somewhere ?

the plugs are earthed through the head they only need a live feed which thy have with the yellow and black link lead

Thanks James ,So do I not need another wire from the end plug nearest Bulkhead to Battery as there is none there at the moment, ?

that either goes to switch as in 2.5 or a relay for tdi

Right So do I need I put a Relay in for my tdi ?

i would , you have a switch position just before starter position

OK Can get this off Disco, so black / yellow to end plug, think thick brown to battery but not sure about others

OH Thanks Only Thick wire here is Me

I just run my 200's plug's through the ignition switch the same as it was for the 19j it replaced.

You don't need one BUT a relay will give the ign switch contacts an easier life and the wires going to/from the ign switch.

So 3. 4 and 5 do I just splice in to there respective wires ? Ignition, Any White, Thin Yellow / Black ??

depends if its a timer relay,ie comes on when you turn ignition on in which case any ignition white wire would do, the warning lamp wire would need to connect to the lamp wire thats there already

Think it is a Timer Relay, Was hoping there might be a spare plug in there somewhere behind my dash for these wires.

no there isnt as yours had a direct feed from the ignition switch

you just need to trace a place to pick up an ignition live and existing lamp feed

No relay, the system is the same as it was for the 19j with the 19j ignition switch, when you look at it the wires and the switch they are man enough for the job.
With a tdi fitted the glow plugs do not have to work half as hard as with the indirect injection 19 anyway.
Pretty sure NA diesel would have used the same switch.
Tdi been in 12 years with no glow plug problems.
