any problem with cone air filter on non turbo 90

evening all,
i want to get rid of the standard dustbin of a air filter on my n/a 2.5 diesel,
takes up a lot of room and is just in the way of a lot of things that need more maintenance
i am not looking to gain more power etc just clean up,
so has any one fitted anything else or see a problem with fitting a aftermarket cone../..k an n type filter...
interested in any ones input on this

great till you want to go off roading, my quad cam v8 90 will get a proper filter before I go laning or plains
