iirc there isn't one for the alt, there are some mid-engined k-series MG that have them.
I don't even think the newer 1.8's with CATs in the downpipe have them?
They are not needed.

Freelanders are on my Rave cd, hope the following helps ..
Err where's the alternator in that pic?
7 is the shield for the mid pipe which sits in the middle of the floor pan.
There is another under around the petrol tank and the downpipe should have one too under the sump, although my SS sump shield was loose after the tack welds came undone, has been removed for a very long time.

there is one over the four branch manifold ,it keeps exhaust heat away from radiator
