Hi guys. Here we go again.... Put a heavy load on the back of my 1998 money pit and the EAS started complaining. Ran for a few days but then sank to the bump stops as per usual. Hooked up my cables and connected up the EAS software suite (getting quite good at this now) But, I can't get the software to sync with the EAS system. I get flashes of 'Good Idle' but then the wrong replies come back in. I never get a long enough 'hook up' to reset the system. It will read the ride heights etc. but I just a long spurious list of fault codes which I know mean that I'm not synced. I find this starnge as I've never had a problem before. I've tried slowing down the transfer speed and I've checked and double checked that I have the right comms port, but it just wont sync properly. All the connections and sockets are clean and rust free as well. When I manually run the compressor pump (using a shunt) I can get the ride up to full wading height, but I have all four Christmas tree lights lit as well as the dashboard warning light. Can run around for a few days at this uncomfortable and unsafe ride height and then the thing sinks back to the bump stops and I get the Max 35 message. Any ideas?

Have you checked the white plug/sockets behind the kick panel in the passenger footwell. Corrosion in these can cause 'interesting' results when you try to connect into the EAS.

That is telling you that you have an uncleared fault.

Dropping to the bumpstops in a couple of days is not usual so I'd guess that you have a leak and the fault is being caused by the system trying, and failing, to overcome it.

Yes, Ive checked it now. Its a comms issue definetly. I see that there has been some discussion on the use of Windows 7. I've tried all versions of windows and all different comms ports. The annoying thing is I can get the Good Idle message up, but as soon as I try another command it goes again back to no idle.
