So been reading through a the build threads. Got me inspired.

So here it is my build. I'll let the pics do all the talking for now as its taken me 6 years to do and hopefully like others ill keep ontop of posting as I go along from now on.

Hopfully there's some sort of order here :)

From start, needed a head gasket when I bought it for 250 quid!

First thing I did was fix that then i drove it around happily for almost two years untill stonleigh lr show, and my first ever credit card!

suspension and winch/bumper and a maxed out credit card later saw this..

Then I got some different tyres. Slightly bigger insa turbos. Because some jealous Cnut popped all 5 of the very good general grabbers it had

I hated the Insas. Noisy rubbish. Dot rate them remoulded atall. Not even for the price.

I then fitted a light bar and snorkel.

Then some wheel spacers. Then modulars!

Then bigger arches.

Then

More bigger wheels...

Then a body lift

So I between all that lot I've done some repairs welded box sills etc

And now it's fully kitted out for my camping trips. And yes it's over the top because I plan on moving very very far south in the next few years

As always it's not finished and ill put more detail from now on.
Thanks for looking

Nice motor mate 3 questions:

What suspension lift that got
What body lift you put on
And what make and size are those tyres

Thanks

To do with the body lift had to move the fuel filter
And extend the rad pins and hi low lever. That's it. Made my own brackets for seat belt mounts and also for the bumpers

Yes will be going as eventually when the time/money is right.. That pic was taken on national bokkie day apparently. The chap on the right is the brotherinlaw and him and the woman are South Africans.

Thanks for the other comments. Taken me lots of hard work

I don't get tyre size measurements at all. I've got 265 75 16 on now but I want bigger. But they're already quite close to the front of the rear arch and they are fully cut with big flexi's on. Can somebody explain where the numbers relate to on the tyres and is it inches? Cheers.

315 is 315mm across the tread 75 is a percentage of the tread width and 16 is the rim size,
so about 12.5" wide and 35" tall

315mm/75% = 236.25mm x 2 = 472.5mm/25=18.9"+16"=34.9"

So to my calculation I it's anywhere near my 265's are about 31"? Fancy some 35" but can already feel box struggling with that size. I know the cure is a 110 transfer box but how bad is it with 35" on an standard disco box?

I find it ok. It's not a huge strain. Been on well over a year and 10k and nothing's broken yet. And they actualy measured just shy of 38" when new. As said earlier 315 is across. 75 is 75% of 315 and is height from edge of rim to beginning of tread. 16 is rim size

Thought as much. Why not just stick to one or the other?!? So the 33", what's the overall size of that with it having a 15" rim?
