Annoying Squeak

Hi Guys,

Looking for a bit of advice about my 300Tdi Disco. It started making a really loud metallic squeak as though something was rubbin and when it makes the noise im sure it makes a slight vibration. It sounds like its coming from under the center console somewhere

I have read that this could be the UJ?

Could anyone advise on symptoms?

Are you getting any symptoms like... Vibrations when driving at low speed? Is the squeak worse when cornering left or right?

When i hear the squeak it vibrates untill you get higher up the rev reange then goes, but soon as you make a left/right turn the squeak is back. Its like a metalic squeak as though something is catching. and reading about UJ it sound like this maybe the issue. Its loud Squeak and very annoying.

Its deffo the UJ nearest to the gearbox, i can move the prop up and down but 5 mil ,cannot move any of the others UJs.

Remove the prop and drive it around with the diff lock engaged until you get the UJ replaced.
If a UJ lets go at speed all bloody hell can let loose.
However, they are dirt cheap and easy enough to replace and with the prop off I would recommend replacing the pair of them.
