Hello again,
Has anyone ever annealed the copper washers before fitting them?
The reason I ask is I can't get them to sit properly on the seat..
Now on my fourth set of washers

Ummmm

either your buying poor washers ,seats are damaged or heads cracked, if everything is ok seats fit from the packet if they dont why

Washers are from Williams LR main dealer, heads not cracked and seat's were damaged but now flat after the Mechanic used the seat tool on them.

I had a neighbour that got new injectors fitted and seats were redone yet still wasn't running right.

Had a look at them and seats were still crap so redone them again and was spot on so they really need to be perfect

Annealin copper washers is fine if done carefully, I do it. Just hook them on a bit of wire and hold over the gas ring until they start to go blue, then quench in cold water.
As others say here this may not be the root cause of your problem.

I've never done it on Landy injector seals but have done it plenty of times on other copper washers and gaskets. Best done in a darkened room. I hang them on a bit of steel wire and heat with a blow torch until cherry red for a few seconds. Be careful, It's easy to overdo it and melt them. Just dull red is all that's needed (hence the darkened room). I don't bother quenching them as hey're so small, they'll cool plenty fast enough in air.

Hello again,

Soooo update; he didn't anneal after all, he (The mechanic) after several attempts at reseating and the 5th set of washers got the injectors to seal, as a caution he kept the truck for 4 days running it up to temp, short and long test drives all good until today when he was about to give me the truck back the trouble starts again, cuts out wont start then starts eventually then cuts out again.
Back to the drawing board.
