Over the weekend I noticed that the top of the fuel lift pump fitted to my reconditioned engine is at an odd angle. Notice how one of the ports is facing towards the block. The would make it difficult, if not impossible, to connect the pipe to it.

Can I simply undo the screws, lift the top off, turn it round the right way, then do them up again?

Thanks for any info.

I've got a solid 90 piece with a union on it that goes into that port. Hose then goes over the solid pipe. I always thought it was part of it but might just be something my granddad made up when he installed the engine

Turn it round a notch - be careful with the screws, it's dead easy to strip them on reassembly. Sometimes they'll even strip when you take them out!

Ok thanks, I was wondering if I would need to order anything extra first.

I will try the fuel lines with the pump as it is. If they fit then I will leave it as it is.

I was told that this was a new old stock pump fitted to the reconditioned engine. If it is brand new, why would the top piece be on like that?

Samc88: My fuel hose also has the steel 90 degree piece. I belive this is was how they were manufactured.
