I've done a few alternators - did one off a generator the other day, actually. A Lucas Marelli A127, which is quite easy.... provided it's done in the right order - which in this case means taking the brush holder out before trying to split the case ..... new bearings, and brush holder, regulator and rectifier were about £22 IIRC...
My point is that knowing how it comes to bits is, IME, the hard part .... I did a Ni$$an FLT one years ago that was a complete cow, due disassembly being some considerable distance from intuitive
Throwing belts is usually the nose bearing - which is usually a standard ball race - a 62042RS or similar - maybe a fiver for a quality one over here
There's probably a vid on the tube of someone doing whichever alt is on the swift - or post some pics and I'll have look
..... what could possibly go wrong
Special tools wise - just patience really - the front cover is probably as fragile as they come, and the shaft and the bearing and the cover will all be stuck together with crud - so it'll need to come apart slowly with a lot of decent penetrating oil - depending on the Alt, the rear bearing is probably a needle roller, and will probably push out either into the case from outside, or out of the case from inside - a new cap & seal is normally in the rebuild kit..... reg and rect will be held in with M3 or M4 bolts - which I usually replace for convenience.....
